About:
This research project will be a follow-up study to previous work performed by the research sponsor on the topic of social comparison on social media. This study seeks to answer what effect, if any, viewing one’s social network on social media has on self-esteem and self-perception of wellbeing.
Questions to Consider:
1) How will the effects proposed above differ for the outcomes of direction of comparison and valence of posts?
2) On what dimensions do people tend to make online comparisons?
3) How will the effects proposed above differ for exposure on Facebook and Instagram platforms?
