Research

To sum it up...
I have always been interested in the role media plays in our lives. Within just a few months on campus
I found myself asking professors about how to become more involved in finding answers to my many questions. I ended up joining the Media Effects and Social Selves Lab (MESS Lab for short!) headed by Professor Benjamin Johnson and was quickly knees-deep in research! The project I'm currently working on with Professor Johnson examines the correlation between time spent on social media and our social comparison to others. I'm very excited to see what results we'll find.

My other research interests include the emergence of parasociality, online subcultures, the effects of anonymity on behavior online, and generally the intersection between the internet and socialization.
